HE was a vibrant ‘Ma-of-God’, a ‘Pastor’, faithfully working in the vineyards of God here in God’s own country-United States of America. He was in his early 40s, so lively, full of smiles and was loved by the entire members of Christ Embassy Church in Dallas, where he shepherd. Austin Ogbeide, a bible-loving pastor had no idea that death was lurking around on the ‘black-day’ he had a fatal accident.
Naija Standard gathered that he had left home very early, hugged his children-a-5year old boy and 2 and half year old girl, after he bid his wife goodbye, as he had an urgent appointment to meet early morning of last week. He said his prayers and drove off.
But while on top of the highway, he observed the cranking-noise emanating from his vehicle, only to discover that his front tire was bad and could have blown-out. He got of his vehicle, parked by the road side and tried to remove the bad tire to be replaced by the extra tire.
Unknown for him, a dumpster truck was heading his way because the driver of the vehicle could not control his brake any longer. And Ogbeide could not see this dumpster truck rushing his way since he was already in front of his car trying to change his bad tire.
Sadly, the dumpster truck hit him, mangled his body in front of the deceased car. Traffic was created immediately as Police Emergency number was dialed. By the time other motorists and police tried to get the deceased body, they could hardly, since his body was mangled and scattered all over the place.
For Nigerian Christian community in Texas, it has been mourning and gloomy, ever since the news of the gentle-loving Pastor Ogbeide broke.
Meanwhile, so pained by this incidence, members of the late pastor’s church, Christ Embassy, Dallas have put up plans to successfully give the deceased a lasting funeral ceremony by footing the whole bill.
The funeral is now slated for next week Sunday in Texas.
