CHINEDU\nOKOLIE, famously known as ‘Flavour’ has demonstrated that he is truly\na good man. Not only did he adopt Semar Weifur, blind Liberian\nmusician as a son, he has also taken him on a life-changing trip to\nan Indian Specialist Hospital, New Delhi to ensure the Liberian\nsinger undergoes an eye surgery so his eyes may be restored. <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Going\nby this Nigerian music superstar, he was fascinated by the boy’s\ntalent, determination to see, despite his eye-sight problem. This\neventually made him to adopt Semah whom he met at Liberia Peace\nCultural Centre in 2017. Even though the surgery takes place in few\ndays from today, the ‘Ijele’ crooner reportedly revealed that his\nmusic-making with the Liberian boy taught him to be humble. Sources\nclose to Flavour explained that the ‘Ijele’ music exponent told few\nfriends that he is confident in the power of God to completely heal\nSemah even as he undergoes eye surgery in few days from now. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It would be\nrecalled that Flavour met Semah in\nMonrovia-Liberia early 2017 and being touched by not just the boy’s\nplight (sight problem) but also his talent, took the boy with him.\n\u201cAdoption of Semah was also to prove to the World that no condition\ncan limit a person as Semah’s talent and confidence gave him more\nreasons to get the World to hear what he can do musically,\u201dstated\none of Flavour’s friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\n2018, Flavour and Semah recorded five hit tracker with the title:\n“DIVINE” which has seen Semah performed in three\ncontinents. The\nartiste has since featured the young blind in his albums, helping him\nrealize his dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flavour has said\nhe adopted this visually-impaired young Liberian to prove to the\nworld that condition doesn\u2019t prove someone\u2019s limitations. He\nbrought Semah to the spotlight with the single \u201cMost High\u201d by\nreportedly saying that the boy is talented, deserves support and that\nwhen it comes to music, there are no limitations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen\nit comes to music, impairments do not exist; as for me, music is\nspiritual. Therefore, there are no limitations as to whom I choose to\nwork with,\u201d Flavour said. \u201cCobhams Asuquo is another\nextraordinarily talented producer and composer that I worked with on\n\u201cVirtuous Woman\u201d as part of my fifth studio album \u2018Ijele \u2013\nThe Traveller.\u2019 There are no bounds to creativity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Semah and Flavour\nmet sometime in March two years ago, and the boy wooed the Nigerian\nmegastar by singing nearly all of his songs, which motivated Flavour\nto think about doing a collabo with him. The lad\u2019s powerful voice\nhas given him the nickname \u2018Liberian Stevie Wonder,\u2019 and some\nbelieve he can rock any genre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The singer added\nthe first day he saw Semah performed at a peace concert organized by\nJuli Endee, Liberia\u2019s cultural ambassador, his mind was blown away\nby the young musician\u2019s vocals, intonation, and confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWorking\nwith Semah has been incredibly humbling. He is a vibrant young boy,\nwho at a young age is very sure about himself and confident. I admire\nthese qualities, which have made it a pleasure to work with him. I\nhaven\u2019t really experienced any challenges working with Semah. He\ndoesn\u2019t allow his visual impairment to hinder him in any way,\u201d\nFlavour said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although Semah is\nnow in Nigeria, he and other physically-challenged folks in Liberia\nrepresent 16% of the country\u2019s population, according to a 2008\ncensus report by the Liberia Institute of Statistics and\nGeo-Information Services (LISGIS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flavour added: \u201c<\/strong>I\nwas introduced to Semah through Masterkraft and the traditional Queen\nRuler of Liberia, Juli Endee, during my trip to Liberia last year. He\nperformed at the Liberia Peace Cultural Centre. His vocals,\nintonation and confidence blew me away. Working with him has been\nincredibly humbling. He is a vibrant young boy, who at a young age\nwas very sure of himself and confident. I admire these qualities in\nhim, which have made it a pleasure to work alongside him on his first\nE.P. titled \u2018Divine\u2019. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\nhaven\u2019t really experienced any challenges working with Semah. He\ndoesn\u2019t allow his visual impairment to hinder him in any way\u201d, he\nsaid with enthusiasm. Though he is a reputable musician of enviable\npedigree, Flavour spared no words in expressing excitement and\neagerness to work with unique musical talents such as Semah. \u201cI\nlove working with unique artistes and talents. Semah fits into this\ncategory. Music is all about evolving and going beyond the expected\ncreative boundaries.
