WITHOUT\nMINCING WORDS, IBA GANI ADAMS, THE AARE ONAKAKANFO OF YORUBALAND has\nopenly critique the death of FUNKE OLAKUNRIN, the daughter of the\nleader of pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben\nFasoranti who was killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen along Benin-Ore\nroad. <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nAdams,\nwho is the Leader of Oodua Peoples Congress, described Olakunrin\u2019s\nkilling by suspected herdsmen in Ondo State as one too many by\nFulanis who are invading the South West in their numbers and\nperpetrating atrocities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nIn\na statement by his Media Assistant, Kehinde Aderemi, on Saturday, the\nAare Onakakanfo said the Yoruba race was not at a loss as to what to\ndo to put a complete stop to the atrocities of the Fulani herdsmen,\nbut had continuously issued statements so as to call the attention of\nthe entire world to the development in the peaceful South West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nHe\nsaid the Yoruba people are not paper tigers and dogs who can only\nbark without biting, adding: \u201cWe only want the whole world to know\nwhat has been done and being done to our people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey\nshould be aware of the actions that preceded our reaction when it\neventually comes. We are not bereft of ideas of how to stop this\ncriminality on our land. It is just so that we should not be blamed\nwhen the reaction comes. We are like the proverbial goat that it\nbeing chased. When it gets to the wall, it will certainly react. We\nare at that stage now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nIba\nAdams said the Yoruba race had been met over a period of three weeks\non the security threat to the people, calling on Governors of the\nSouth West states to ensure the conclusion of the Security Summit\nprocess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nHe\nequally charged all traditional rulers to take bold steps to stamp\nout killings by Fulani herdsmen in their domains. He said there\nshould be a process of identifying visitors or new settlers in every\ncommunity, adding that the leader of the visitors or settlers must be\nknown to the traditional rulers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\ncommiserated with Pa Fasoranti, praying God to comfort him and his\nentire household. He said: \u201cPapa, this is a very trying time. But\nit is certain justice will come.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
