HE’S\nA NIGERIAN CRIMINAL WHO PREYS ON VULNERABLE WOMEN DESPERATE TO SETTLE\nDOWN FOR MARRIAGE. MOSES IGWENEME AND DAUGHTER, NKIRUKA BLESSING LIVE\nON CRIMES plying various dating sites in search of ladies. At the\nlast count, the duo has stolen $240,700 from Chantal Helene Meadery,\na Switzerland woman who felt betrayed having emptied her bank\naccounts and paid several sums of funds to the fraudsters. <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moses\nappeared in court in Nigeria for defrauding the Switzerland national\nof US$240,700 through an online scam perpetrated with his daughter,\nNkiruka Blessing Igweneme, now at large. Authorities in Nigeria\narraigned Moses before the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt in the\nsouthern Rivers State for the case of fraud against Meadery.\n<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nNigeria’s\nleading anti-fraud agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes\nCommission (EFCC) busted the father-daughter syndicate during a\ncrackdown exercise on internet fraud in the country. It\nis alleged that the Igwenemes defrauded Meadery following an\nencounter on a dating app. There was an arrangement of marriage that\nwould have seen Moses move permanently to Switzerland.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nA<\/strong>ccording\nto the complainant, Naija\nStandard Newspaper<\/strong><\/em>\ngathered that the father and daughter feigned several different\nemergency situations and various other problems that ensnared Meadery\ninto making a total of 16 different money transfers since last year. She\nsought the intervention of the Switzerland government, which\npetitioned Nigerian authorities to investigate. \u201cInvestigations\nshowed that the syndicate has also defrauded other foreigners through\ntheir fraudulent dating schemes,\u201d EFCC spokesman, Tony Orilade,\nsaid. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nThe\nsuspect has pleaded not guilty to a four-count charge bordering on\nconspiracy and money laundering.He\nhas been remanded in custody pending bail application while his\ndaughter has been declared wanted.
