THE\nNIGERIAN GOVERNMENT IS NOT LEAVING ANY STONE UNTURNED IN ENSURING\nSHEIKH IBRAHIM EL-ZAKZAKY FACE THE FULL MUSIC GOING BY VARIOUS\nUNPATRIOTIC ACTIONS THE LEADER OF ISLAMIC MOVEMENT IN NIGERIA, IMN,\nHAS UNDERTAKEN FOR SOME TIME IN N IGERIA. <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nFederal Government, on Wednesday, accused Sheik El-Zakzaky of being\nsponsored by Iran to replicate the 1979 violent revolution that led\nto the forceful takeover of power in the country in Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nIn\na fresh process it filed before the Federal High Court, Abuja, the\nfederal government stressed that currently, members of the IMN, do\nnot recognise President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nIt\nargued that the plan of the IMN leader and his sponsor was to\nforcefully turn the country into an Islamic State. The federal\ngovernment therefore, urged the court to dismiss the suit the IMN\nfiled to challenge the order that proscribed its activities in\nNigeria. It told the court that the relationship between El-Zakzaky\nand Iran started shortly after the said revolution that toppled a\nsitting government,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nIt\nsaid that El-Zakzaky who was a Shia activist in the university was\n\u201cheavily influenced\u201d by the Iranian revolution, and had since\ngalvanised his followers and brainwashed them to unleash mayhem\nagainst the Nigerian state and its citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nThis\nis coming on a 56-paragraph counter-affidavit that was deposed to by\nDeputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Operation, FCT Command,\nEnyinnaya Adiogu, on behalf of the Nigerian Government. He told the\ncourt that he had the consent of the Attorney General of the\nFederation, the National Security Adviser, and the Inspector General\nof Police, to depose to the affidavit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DCP\nAdiogu said: \u201cThat from history and facts available, the Movement\nCalled Islamic Movement of Nigeria founded by El-Zakzaky has its sole\naim of creating an Islamic State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\nSheik El-Zakzaky was heavily influenced by the Iranian revolution,\nwhich saw Ayatollah Khomeini take power in 1979 after the overthrow\nof the Shah in a popular uprising. Khomeini remains the Islamic\nMovement in Nigeria\u2019s main inspiration. That members of IMN first\npledge allegiance to Khomeini at their gatherings, and then to their\nlocal leader, Sheikh El-Zakzaky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe\nIMN views itself as a government, and Sheik Zakzaky as the only\nlegitimate source of authority in Nigeria and it does not recognise\nthe authority of the Nigerian government, and views its leaders both\nMuslims and Christians as corrupt and ungodly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\nthe Islamic Movement in Nigeria began with a Shia Muslim university\nactivist, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, who became so impressed with the 1979\nrevolution in Iran that he wanted one at home (Nigeria).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLater,\nEl-Zakzaky went to Iran, ultimately becoming a Shia cleric.\n\u201cThat\non his return home, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky formed the Islamic Movement of\nNigeria and turned it into a vehicle for proselytizing and gaining\nfollowers in 1990s. \u201cThat\ntill date, Sheikh El-Zakzaky enjoys the support of Iran in all the\nactivities of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, including the agenda\nto make Nigeria an Islamic State.\u201cThat as a result of El-Zakzaky\nMovement\u2019s activities, many Muslim youths have converted to\nShia-Islam of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria. \u201cThat\nthe main aim of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria is to propagate the\nideology in Iran and turn the Country (Nigeria) into an Islamic State\nas was done in the Iranian Revolution of 1979. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
