HE WAS NEVER A GENUINE\n‘MAN-OF-GOD’ but a fake prophet from the pit of hell, deceiving\nvarious members of his congregation in London for his own selfish\ndesire. Ajibola Shogbamimu (a.k.a. Shohfah-El Isreal), a notorious\nsenior prophet of Israel\nUnited in Christ church, London is on trial and has been convicted\nfor 17 year jail term for killing a 20-year old University of\nHertfordshire undergraduate, Joy Morgan, a member of his church who\nbefore her gruesome death in the hands of same pastor was studying to\nbecome a midwife. <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shohfah, a manipulative’\nmarried man jailed for the murder of Morgan is regarded a dishonest\nprophet all through the Queen’s enclave. Shogbamimu,\nwas convicted by a jury at Reading crown court of killing Joy Morgan\nafter spending two days alone with her in December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nThe\n20-year-old midwifery student\u2019s body has never been recovered,\ndespite extensive police searches of hundreds of hectares of land in\nHertfordshire. After initially lying to police and claiming he had\ndropped Morgan off at her student accommodation in Hatfield after a\nchurch dinner on 26 December, Israel later admitted to spending two\nnights alone wit<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nHe\nsaid he had lied because of strict rules at the Israel United in\nChrist church, which they both attended, that prohibited women from\nspending time in the company of men other than their husbands. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nPassing\nsentence, Judge Michael Soole said: \u201cOnly you know the\ncircumstances of your terrible deed and why you did it. You are\nevidently an intelligent man and have said nothing beyond the lies\nand the explanations which the jury has rejected.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nSoole\nsaid Israel had caused \u201cvery particular and continuing distress and\nsuffering\u201d with his \u201ccruel and cowardly silence about Joy\nMorgan\u2019s final resting place\u201d. Israel, supporting himself with a\nwalking stick, looked at the floor as he was sentenced. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nThe\ncourt heard that after killing Morgan, a student at the University of\nHertfordshire, Israel attempted to cover his tracks by removing her\nnumber from a church group chat on the Telegram app and going to her\nstudent house share to pretend to check on her in the days after she\nwent missing. A signal from Morgan\u2019s phone, which has never been\nfound, was detected in Israel\u2019s car in the Stevenage area recently,\nat which point the jury was told he was most likely \u201clooking for\nsomewhere to dispose of the body\u201d. The keys to Morgan\u2019s house\nwere discovered in the footwell of his car after his arrest in\nFebruary. Israel\n\u2013 who is originally from Nigeria \u2013 denied having sex with Morgan,\ninsisting he saw her as a daughter. In a message sent in March 2018,\nIsrael told Morgan she was an \u201camazing princess\u201d and \u201ca\ntreasure that cannot be measured\u201d. Morgan\u2019s\nmother, Carol, who is not a member of the church, reported her\ndaughter\u2019s disappearance to police on 7 February, six weeks after\nshe was last seen. The court heard that Morgan had been reported\nmissing previously in 2013 and 2014, but only for a day on each\noccasion. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n A\nvictim impact statement read on behalf of Morgan\u2019s mother, who\nattended the four-week trial with other relatives, described her as\n\u201cmy shining light and my superstar\u201d. \u201cShe was such a wonderful\nperson, selfless, caring, loved by so many,\u201d the statement read.\nThe Israel United in Christ church, founded in the US in 2003 and led\nby Bishop Nathanyel Ben Israel, teaches that black and Hispanic\npeople are the \u201cbiblical 12 tribes of the nation of Israel\u201d. The\nSouthern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate and extremist\norganisations in the US, includes the church\u2019s 44 American branches\nin a list of \u201cblack nationalist hate groups\u201d. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nWhile\nmale members have ranks including officers and soldiers, female\nmembers have no ranks and are called sisters. The court was told that\nwomen in the church often referred to men as Sir and Master. The\nHainault Street branch in east London, which Morgan attended with\nabout 150 members, is one of two in the UK, with another in the West\nMidlands.
