Alo died in the custody of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) after he had heated arguments and altercation with two agents of CBSA. <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>This reporter gathered that the family of this Nigerian man are appealing for answers and clarity after their bread-winner had died while in CBSA custody. Eye witness account confirmed that this Nigerian man died on a flight while being escorted out of the country.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>On August 7th, the 49-year-old man got into what the CBSA described as an exchange with two agents. <span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Alo was removed from a KLM flight to Amsterdam, went into medical distress and later died in hospital. <\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Elias Munshya the Alo family\u2019s lawyer explained: <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u201c<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">This is a family that lost a loved one, so they&#8217;re quite broken about the death but also about the manner of death because there is very little information that has come through, there is very little known about what caused his death.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Naija Standard<\/em> <em>INVESTIGATION<\/em><\/span> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">showed that the Calgary Police Service is investigating this case as a death in custody but right now details of what happened on that flight remain unclear.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">For the records,<\/span><\/span> <span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Alo arrived in Canada in 2005 and had fought to remain in Canada filing numerous times for refugee status.,<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u201c<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">He was not looking for handouts, all he was appealing for was for an opportunity to remain in Canada and save his life because he believed that in Nigeria his life was in danger,\u201d says Munshya.<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>Documents from the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada warned removing Alo could be \u201cviolent\u201d and advised CBSA agents to \u201ctake caution\u201d and \u201cbe careful\u201d.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>The deceased distressed family-Alo&#8217;s wife, two sons aged 17 and 20 in Nigeria had been requesting for justice. The family&#8217;s church members had set up &#8216;<span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">A GoFundMe page&#8217; in the hopes of raising enough money to send Alo\u2019s remains back to Nigeria.<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Munshya said: <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u201c<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It will help them find some closure. It will help them to have the body of their departed husband and father. It will be very good to take his remains back to Nigeria so that he can be interred there.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>An autopsy did not confirm a cause of death and it can take months to do additional testing.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Two agents did suffer minor injuries in the<\/span> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">incident.
