…used unmarked vehicle\u2019s light, siren and police position to conduct a traffic stop on a driver he thought had a large amount of drug proceeds, unknowing to him an undercover<\/em><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

FRENEL CENAT is a cop attached to Miami Police Department as an officer. He lives ostentatiously. He drives state-of-the-art cars. But the greed to acquire more wealth through the fast lane, made him walk into the traps prepared by two of his victims who were undercovers from the Federal Bureau of Investigations, FBI. The arrested suspect is alleged to have made various proceeds from distributing and selling Cocaine, allegedly to the tune of $130,000.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cenat is facing some serious criminal charges after a sting operation involving someone \u201che believed to be involved in drug trafficking,\u201d according to federal prosecutors.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday night, Nov. 3, he used \u201chis lights and siren to pull over the vehicle driven by an undercover agent posing as a drug trafficker who had a backpack containing what were represented to be drug proceeds.\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That driver stopped and according to the complaint,<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCenat then took the bag of money, let the driver leave, and met up with the individual who told him about the deal, giving him $13,000 and keeping the other $39,000.\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office said Cenat did it again, asking that other person \u201cif he had anyone who they could stop and steal drugs and money from.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That traffic stop took place late Thursday, Nov. 16, and the feds said \u201cCenat introduced himself as \u2018Officer Martez of the Broward County Sheriff\u2019s Office – Narcotics Unit.\u2019<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen Cenat arrived at the location arranged for the split of the proceeds, he was arrested, and the 7 kilogram-shaped packages and a large quantity of $100 bills were found in his official MPD vehicle.\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cenat, 40, is charged with Hobbs Act extortion and attempted extortion under color of official right, theft of government funds, and attempted possession with intent to distribute cocaine.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
