JOSEPH ALOBA, THE FATHER OF ILERIOLUWA PROMISE ALOBA, A NIGERIAN MUSICIAN FAMOUSLY KNOWN AS ‘MOHBAD’, has taken his desires to unravel the truth behind the demise of his son to a new level, after he secured a court order to serve Wunmi, widow of the deceased with a Deoxyribonucleic acid, DNA test, to authenticate the circumstances leading to the artiste’s death, biological\/fatherhood identity of Liam, the only child left behind in the son’s marriage.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Joseph says he has served a notice of the pending DNA test application on his son\u2019s wife, Wunmi, by substituted means.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


It was reported that the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ikorodu granted the order recently.
The Aloba family\u2019s lawyer, Monisola Odumosu, reportedly said that the notice was pasted at Wunmi\u2019s last known address earlier in the day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Odumosu said, \u201cThe law required that an application to use other legal means to effect service on the respondent be adopted. So as a result of the order granted by the court in this regard, we have served the notice and it was posted at her last known address on Friday morning.\u201d
\u201cWe expect her to be in court or his legal representation on May 14, 2024,\u201d the lawyer added.
The family of Aloba through Mohbad\u2019s father had filed a suit seeking a DNA test for his grandson, Liam.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


The family sought an order from the court directing that the test be conducted in a recognised and accredited government or private medical facility within the state at the expense of the applicant.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


It also sought an order directing Wunmi to submit herself and Master Liam Aloba for the DNA test.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


The application filed by the family also sought an order granting leave to the chief pathologist in charge of the remains of Mohbad presently at the Military Hospital, Yaba Lagos, to take samples of the body of the deceased to conduct a DNA test for Liam.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


The family\u2019s lawyer however revealed that an attempt to serve the court process on Mohbad\u2019s wife on Friday, March 8, at her Lekki home was not successful.
A source close to the family told our correspondent that these were the words Mohbad’s father had been telling people close to him these following words: “I am in search of justice for my son, truth must prevail, light must shine over darkness. I will not rest until killers of my son-MOHBAD are exposed, arrested and prosecuted. There will be no cover-up on the identities of the suspects behind the crime.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Mohbad died at the age of 27, on September 12, 2023, with circumstances surrounding his death sparking controversies on social media.
Being a former record label signee of Marlian Music owned by Naira Marley, Mohbad left the label in February 2022. The Lagos State Police Command had on September 18, 2023, inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team to probe the singer\u2019s death.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


His death also led to the arrest of Naira Marley and controversial Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, amongst others.
The singer\u2019s body was on September 21, 2023, exhumed for autopsy to unravel the cause of his death.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
