AMERICA’S VICE PRESIDENT, KAMALA HARRIS has taken a swipe at Donald Trump, former president of the United States, describing him as a man “lacking in integrity, honesty”, who poses a greater danger to Democracy. She used a rally where she appeared in Las Vegas to say that \u201cthis race will not be decided by one night in June.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Harris summed it up by saying: “I Stand By President Joe Biden, Abortion Access, Social Security; Women Reproductive Rights, Health Insurance on Line in 2024 Election”.
The Vice President dismissed the \u201cpunditry\u201d criticizing President Joe Biden\u2019s halting and uneven debate performance.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Speaking to an energetic crowd, Harris joined Biden\u2019s push to quell Democratic anxiety by going on the attack against former President Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee. She framed the election as a binary choice \u201cbetween someone who lies and someone who leads.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As she acknowledged Biden\u2019s uneven performance, Harris emphasized the substance of Trump\u2019s remarks during the 90-minute debate, including his refusal to condemn the rioters who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, as well as his unwillingness to emphatically commit to accepting the results of this November\u2019s election.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cLast night clarified the stakes of this election,\u201d Harris said.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Her event in Las Vegas and her television interviews after Biden\u2019s debate were apparent efforts to calm Democratic panic. Hours earlier in Raleigh, North Carolina, Biden appeared to acknowledge the criticism of his performance, saying “I don\u2019t debate as well as I used to.\u201d
Harris spoke for 11 minutes at a Las Vegas community center at an event geared toward Latino voters, a crucial voting bloc in the battleground state of Nevada.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


A Biden campaign staffer followed a New York Times reporter as he interviewed voters and shut down interviews when they turned negative, the newspaper reported. Nobody from the campaign followed or interfered with an Associated Press reporter speaking to voters.
Harris said the contrast between Biden and Trump ultimately has to be on Biden\u2019s performance in office, rather than in one debate.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cI see Joe Biden when the cameras are on and when the cameras are off,\u201d Harris said. \u201cI in the Oval Office negotiating bipartisan deals. I see him in the Situation Room keeping our country safe. On the world stage, meeting with world leaders who often ask for his advice.\u201d
Polls from <\/strong>CNN <\/strong><\/em>and 538\/Ipsos conducted soon after the debate found that most debate-watchers thought Trump outperformed Biden. But the two men\u2019s favorability ratings remained largely unchanged, just as they did in the aftermath of Trump\u2019s conviction.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Harris gave interviews Thursday night on <\/strong>CNN<\/strong><\/em> and <\/strong>MSNBC <\/strong><\/em>amid immediate Democratic panic over Biden\u2019s performance, which fueled longstanding questions about whether the 81-year-old president should step aside.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cIt was a slow start. That\u2019s obvious to everyone. I\u2019m not going to debate that point,\u201d Harris said in an interview on <\/strong>CNN<\/strong><\/em> following the debate. \u201cI\u2019m talking about the choice for November. I\u2019m talking about one of the most important elections in our collective lifetime.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Before Harris arrived in Las Vegas, a group of women waiting to get inside agreed that Biden\u2019s debate performance was lacking but believed he could recover.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cWe had faux pas on either side, but Biden-Harris is clearly the way to go,\u201d Tina Allen-Major, 50, a Las Vegas electrician said as a Mariachi band played nearby. \u201cWe have to continue to protect our democracy, we have to work for what\u2019s best for our future.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Biden wasn\u2019t the first incumbent president to stumble in their first debate, and a \u201cslow start\u201d is no reason to cast him aside, said Sharon Tillis, 71, of Henderson, Nevada, a data collector for government policymakers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cWhen you\u2019re with someone, you stand with them solidly,\u201d Tillis said.
Former President Barack Obama and Trump both received low marks for their first debates in 2012 and 2020, when they were running as incumbents. Neither candidate\u2019s performance led to the type of panic that Biden\u2019s performance triggered among some Democrats.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Brandon Colbert, a 42-year-old Teamsters convention worker in Las Vegas, said Biden\u2019s performance was \u201cconcerning\u201d but he believes Biden can do the job and doesn\u2019t think it\u2019s realistic to talk about replacing Biden as the Democratic nominee.<\/strong>
\u201cWho\u2019s going to step in at this point?\u201d Colbert said. \u201cI mean, the train is running. We got who we got. This is what we\u2019re going with. I still pick him over Trump.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
