U.S Immigration Officer, Ghanaian born Naturalized American, SAMUEL NYANTENG busted at home, Arrested for Perjury, False Oath-Swearing, Conspiracy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


*Homeland Security discovers suspect submitted fraudulent documents, knowingly made false statement to immigration authorities in order to bring another person into the United States from Ghana<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


*Detectives from the Essex County Prosecutor\u2019s Office, Homeland Security and ICE executed a search warrant at Nyanteng\u2019s home located on Leslie Street in Hillside and took him into custody<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


*At the time of arrest, 33-year-old was in line for a promotion, earlier employed by the Department of Defense, Judge sets bail at $30,000 with a 10 percent option<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HE WAS BORN IN THE OLD GOLD COAST, Ghana. He had dreams and aspirations. He migrated into the United States in search of the ‘green pastures’. And applied for his Green Card along the line, only to later become a Naturalized United States citizen. SAMUEL NYANTENG later got admitted into the Homeland Security in Citizenship and Immigration Newark office.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


In the cause of audit, the Homeland Security in Citizenship and Immigration investigation discovered that this suspect who has been employed for the last three years submitted fraudulent documents, knowingly made false statement to immigration authorities in order to bring another person into the United States from Ghana.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Pronto, the Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray, along with officials from Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, announced recently that Nyanteng was arrested at his Hillside home and charged with perjury, false swearing and conspiracy.
It is alleged that Nyanteng, a-33-year-old, immigration officer, deceived the Homeland Security in Citizenship and Immigration at the Newark office.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


At 6 a.m. detectives from the Essex County Prosecutor\u2019s Office, Homeland Security and ICE executed a search warrant at Nyanteng\u2019s home located on Leslie Street in Hillside and took him into custody without incident.
The Honorable Robert H. Gardner, Judge of the Superior Court, has set bail at $30,000 with a 10 percent option.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


At the time of his arrest, Nyanteng was in line for a promotion. Prior to working for Homeland Security, Nyanteng was employed by the Department of Defense.
The investigation is active and ongoing. No other information is available at this time.
Acting Prosecutor Murray commended Andrew McLees, Special Agent in Charge, Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations Newark Office; and Edward J. Nasiatka, Special Agent in Charge, Department of Homeland Security, Office of the Inspector General in the New York field office; along with officials with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for their assistance in this investigation.<\/strong>
These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
