HOPE HAS finally come for hundreds of Nigerians stranded in Tehran in the face of the just concluded peace deal orchestrated by the government of the United States between Iran and the Israeli administration. The Federal Government of Nigeria has coordinated a plan with Armenia to successfully evacuate those stranded Nigerians out of the country. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>The <\/strong>Nigerian government has reacted to some media reports that Nigerian nationals have been abandoned in Iran amid the ongoing war with Israel.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The government claimed it has meanwhile engaged the Armenian government to secure access for the evacuation of Nigerians in Tehran amid the raging conflict.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by the ministry\u2019s spokesperson, Mr. Kimiebi Ebienfa.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The statement said the ministry\u2019s attention was drawn to what it described as misleading and unfounded reports.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The reports suggested that the Nigerian Embassy in Tehran had ceased operations and abandoned citizens due to the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Embassy of Nigeria in Tehran remains operational and fully committed to the welfare and safety of all Nigerian nationals in Iran,\u201d Tuggar affirmed.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

He explained, however, that due to ongoing security concerns and consistent bombings in Tehran, normal work schedules had been disrupted, with embassy staff currently working remotely.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn response to the developments, the Embassy is actively engaging with the Government of Armenia to secure access for the evacuation of Nigerians via Yerevan,\u201d the minister stated.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Tuggar urged Nigerians in Iran requiring assistance to contact the Embassy through the emergency numbers and emails.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
