Southwest Farmer\u2019s African Market is a visible and prime African company that is prominent not only in North America, but the whole of United States that meet the shopping needs of millions of Africans and the black community. As such, the management of Naija Standard Newspaper Inc USA<\/em>, award-wining global media company certified by the Government of the State of Texas and registered by the Government of Nigeria dissociates itself totally from the untrue report earlier authored \u00a0by our former Washington DC National Security Editor, Isaiah Emmanuel, who had since been sacked, ruined his media career after an internal investigation was conducted, and he was found culpable.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It will be recalled that Emmanuel was hired a couple of months ago after a recommendation from a former editor of Newswatch magazine in London. He had assured our Editorial Board of breaking news content that he was working on in Texas. And as someone with the title of \u2018editor\u2019, journalism standard was expected for him to always be truthful in his report without an iota of lie. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Since he was an editor, he had access to upload his stories by then, because he knew the handle (which had been changed after he was fired). <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

With his title of an \u2018Editor\u2019, global journalism practice expected of him to be the final gatekeeper of truth, but Emmanuel disappointed his readers and trashed his reputation when he published an inaccurate, untrue and make-belief story as if it was real. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

However, an email received from Vivian Akpokabayen, Brand Manager Southwest Farmers Market, Southwest Farmers Market with headquarters located at 10531 S Wilcrest drive, Houston Texas, 77099, USA exposed this fallacy kept secret by Emmanuel.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This singular action prompted our Editorial Board to convene an emergency Board of Directors\u2019 management meeting where Emmanuel was called to the Conference Room and confronted to authenticate the story with an email handy from Southwest Farmer\u2019s African Market. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

He broke down, owned up and begged. When asked why he did not verify the story, he said he was desperate to hit his first cover story which was why he got carried away and lied.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The HR Directorate was immediately told afterwards to issue Emmanuel a sack letter since his character is unbecoming of a great journalist, talk less of an \u2018Editor\u2019. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As such, Emmanuel was handed his sack letter, unceremoniously escorted out of the company\u2019s property by the security. He ended his career by himself, through his degrading and unbecoming gutter journalism.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It is sacred in journalism worldwide that if a reporter is in doubt of any story, he or she must leave it out and not write such a story.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In the mail received by Southwest Farmer\u2019s African Market on the subject matter, it reads: \u201cDear Dr. Samson Shoaga, Group Managing Editor, Naija Standard Newspaper Inc USA. Thank you for your detailed correspondence and for the prompt actions taken by the Board, Editorial Management, and Human Resources Directorate of Naija Standard Newspaper Inc. USA.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe acknowledge your official apology and appreciate the transparency with which you addressed the inaccuracies previously published about Southwest Farmer’s African Market. The swift internal review, disciplinary measures taken, and removal of the erroneous story demonstrate a clear commitment to journalistic responsibility and professional accountability\u2026\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
