I asked them to put the record straight.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>He explained that the interview took place on February 11, 2026, and was originally intended to run for one hour and 20 minutes. \u201cThe interview was conducted properly. Questions were asked, and I answered them. I didn\u2019t deny anything,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>However, Bwala claimed that when the network uploaded the interview online on March 5, only 49 minutes of the conversation were included, omitting nearly 20 minutes of content. He added that an 8-minute version later circulated, which \u201cjoined and cut parts of the interview in a way that emphasized certain points while leaving out crucial context.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>According to Bwala, Al Jazeera had initially assured him that the full interview would be aired on television before being uploaded online. \u201cTheir excuse was that trending matters around Israel, Iran, and the US affected the airing. But even so, they went ahead and uploaded the edited version on YouTube,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-15705\" src=\"https:\/\/nigeriastandardnewspaper.com\/a\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/BWALA-Two.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"821\" height=\"629\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nigeriastandardnewspaper.com\/a\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/BWALA-Two.jpg 781w, https:\/\/nigeriastandardnewspaper.com\/a\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/BWALA-Two-300x230.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nigeriastandardnewspaper.com\/a\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/BWALA-Two-768x588.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 821px) 100vw, 821px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Bwala emphasized that the full interview should be released to ensure proper context. \u201cIt\u2019s very important that they publish the full video,\u201d he said, warning that selective editing risks creating misunderstandings about his statements.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Bwala insisted that Hasan selectively edited the interview, created a misleading narrative that fueled criticism online.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Bwala alleged that an additional 8-minute condensed version was later produced, combining different segments in a way that highlighted certain points while leaving out important context.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Reacting to the backlash on social media, Bwala maintained that he answered all questions during the session and did not deny any issues raised.
