IF not for greed, what could have led a Nigerian lady, Amarachukwu Igwe, a newly employed Prison Deputy Officer at the Arlington County Facility in Virginia, United States to have thrown caution away to ferry hard drugs into Alexandra Adult Detention Center to collect cash in return?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As such, the United States (U.S) on Saturday, April 4, fired, handcuffed and charged the Nigerian officer, Amarachukwu attached to the Alexandria sheriff\u2019s office after attempting to deliver drugs in the city\u2019s prison facility.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Igwe joined the department in July 2025 and was arrested on April 4, before any narcotics reached inmates at the Alexandria adult detention center.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Investigators say Igwe intended to deliver the drugs to a prisoner, but the sheriff\u2019s internal investigations team discovered the scheme and acted before the substances entered the facility or reached the general population.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Igwe was processed at the Arlington County detention facility and now faces charges including delivery of drugs to prisoners, conspiracy to deliver drugs to prisoners, and possession of a Schedule III controlled substance.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Sheriff Sean Casey confirmed her immediate termination, emphasizing that the department will not tolerate breaches of trust or security.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
