\"TB<\/a>LIKE<\/strong> a park of cards, Coroners Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State have given an insight into the reason behind the collapsed building at Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) with a caveat that the \u201ccollapsed guest house of the SCOAN lacks Lagos State Government approval.\u201d\u00a0Making this revelation backed with evidence, Toyin Ayinde Adedamola, State Commissioner for Physical Development and Urban Planning told Coroners Court headed by Chief Magistrate Oyetade Komolafe that \u2018at no time did Lagos State Government ever gave a-go ahead to SCOAN to erect a guest house within its premises.\u2019\u00a0As such, Lagos State Government believe the erection of that collapsed guest house was \u2018invalid, non approved and illegal.\u2019<\/p>\n

Adedamola stated this while making his testimony before the Coroners Court sitting in Ikeja the state capital. He explained to the judge that when he arrived scene of the collapsed building, he and his team found it difficult to gain access into the expansive complex in Ikotun, a Lagos suburb, but the timely intervention of the police on duty eventually allowed him entrance.<\/p>\n

While being cross examined, the Commissioner held that lack of approval documents of a building did not invalidate its authentic test, indicating further that there was no scientific proof that a building without plan could stand or fall.<\/p>\n

His words: \u201cThe debris of the collapsed structure remained at the site, as the last time I visited the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For the records, SCOAN six-story building went down midday of Friday, September 12, 2014. About 120 people were killed in the disaster, mostly South African worshipers.<\/p>\n

The General Overseer of the Church, Pastor T.B. Joshua has alleged that terrorists were responsible for the incident.<\/p>\n
