\"kalu<\/a>AS<\/b> Nigeria’s Presidential election came to an end on March 28 and 29, 2015 and Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, issued certificate of return to General Muhammadu Buhari, GMB, the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, who won the election with a higher vote cast over out-going President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GEJ, of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, a former governor of Abia State in an exclusive interview said he sees Nigeria becoming the Dubai of Africa shortly: \u201cMy belief is that Nigeria will become Dubai of Africa, by being one of the greatest countries in Africa.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking to Naija Standard<\/i><\/b> in United States, he hailed the the transparency behind the just concluded presidential election , by saying \u201cThe just concluded presidential election was successful and peaceful. There were no crises. Let me remind you that when General Buhari was president of Nigeria then as military leader he performed very well. I am sure, he will do much more, now as an elected President chosen by the people of Nigeria due to his excellent track record.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When asked how the on-going peace in Nigeria can be sustained, he sounded spiritual by saying: \u201cI believe God will see us through as a nation. I am certain that with the military background of Buhari, he will make this country to be very peaceful.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

‘Buhari’s Govt should Focus on Empowerment Policies for Poor Masses’<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On how Buhari can take Nigeria’s economy out of the woods, Kalu said \u201cBuhari will take good care of the economy perfectly. It is very important that he ensures empowerment policies for the poor masses form the fulcrum of his economic ideologies.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

‘Naira value will soon Appreciate to Dollar in Foreign Exchange Market’<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Kalu explained to Naija Standard<\/i><\/b> that he has string conviction in him that Nigeria’s naira will speedily appreciate against American dollar in the Foreign Exchange Market. His words: \u201cI am confident that Buhari as a former leader can make it happen, such that our naira will gradually appreciate against dollar in the Foreign Exchange Market being a former leader who is always focused, disciplined and visionary.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Expresses Confidence that Inflation, Electricity Failure would be conquered<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When asked how he thinks Buhari’s administration can fight inflation and generate constant electricity supply in Nigeria, this ebullient and international entrepreneur stated that \u201cGoing by his disciplinary background as a former military head-of-state, Buhari can successfully turn Nigeria’s economy around. His administration will conquer inflation and ensure electricity supply in the nation, since he is a man of his words.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

‘GEJ deserves Nobel Peace Prize for midwifing Credible Elections in Nigeria’<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This Chairman of SLOK Holding, Daily Sun and New Telegraph newspapers commends the out-going President, Jonathan when he applaud his conduct and statesmanship of ensuring most transparent and credible election in Nigeria. He said \u201cJonathan deserves a Nobel Peace Prize to have been able to midwife a credible, peaceful and transparent presidential election in the country. He promised earlier to ensuring his administration legacy would be remembered for creating a good, political atmosphere for peaceful election, and he delivered on his promises.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Hails INEC Chairman, Jega for conduct of Free, Fair, Transparent election<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Kalu gave commendation to INEC under the chairmanship of Professor Attahiru Jega for conducting free, fair election adjudged by the international community as a great election. He said \u201cINEC performance in the just concluded presidential election was good. I was very impressed with it. Jega did quite well and I am happy the world acknowledged the election as free and fair.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Commends Nigerian-American Press Association for Summit on Nigeria’s Post Electioneering Process holding in North America<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Kalu heaps encomium on Nigerian-American Press Association, NAPA, for its summit on :Media Role in Nigeria’s Post Electioneering Process..Towards Sustainable Peace’ holding next week Wednesday, April 8, 2015 by 10:00am in Texas. He said: \u201cI want to appreciate NAPA for this noble effort at celebrating Nigeria overseas and ensuring media roles are being played in sustaining peace all over Nigeria.
