He is followed wherever he goes by armies of stern looking armed law enforcement agents and privately hired body guards. He is alleged to have committed various atrocities in the Federal Civil Service to the extent that his tenure had witnessed the alleged looting of the government agency to bankruptcy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nigeriastandardnewspaper.com\/a\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Maina-final.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-304\" alt=\"Maina final\" src=\"http:\/\/nigeriastandardnewspaper.com\/ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Maina-final-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Lavishes N1bn on choice properties, women abroad<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This Chairman, Pension Task Force is alleged to have lavished a princely sum of N1bn on choice properties in Europe, Canada and bought costly gifts to his European girlfriends; even as a lot of civil service workers live in penury, delayed salaries and almost extinct gratuities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Spends N4m weekly on personal security<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Naija Standard<\/i><\/b> learnt that Maina fearing that his life may be in danger due to his alleged reckless lifestyle ensured he spends the sum of N8m every two weeks for personal security to stay alive and ward off any invader or stranger who may want to attack him.<\/p>\n<p><b>Untold money laundering activities overseas exposed<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Since he was appointed to his present position,<b> <\/b><b><i>Naija Standard<\/i><\/b> gathered that Maina had allegedly used various fronts to \u2018wire\u2019 pension funds abroad in the knowledge of few bank branch managers to beat the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) rules on money laundering activities.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>His illegal oil bunkering scandal uncovered<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This obviously worried Federal Civil Service chief had been discovered to have been involved in alleged illegal oil bunkering shady deals with some ex-militants in the Niger-Delta area of Nigeria. <b><i>Naija Standard<\/i><\/b> investigation revealed that he had made fortunes from this oil bunkering in the past and allegedly \u2018settled\u2019 the ex-militants to cover his criminal past from the media.<\/p>\n<p><b>Drives Bulletproof state-of-the-art vehicles<\/b><\/p>\n<p>As at the time of going to press, our correspondent learnt that Maina flaunts his bulletproof state-of-the-art cars whenever he decides to go out which costs fortune, ably accompanied by tough-looking armed security operatives and private guards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Why Senate is angry with him<\/b><\/p>\n<p>We can tell you authoritatively that this man seeing as \u2018untouchable\u2019 by Federal Civil Service worker due to his alleged intimacy to the presidency has now gone into hiding and the Senate of Nigeria\u2019s National Assembly is so angry with Maina for repeatedly calling the bluff of the upper house of Nigeria\u2019s national parliament, bearing in mind that due to his closeness to the presidency, no one; not even the Senate could summon him to appear before them to account for all his expenditures on pensions for the Federal Civil Service. And the Nigerian Senate had given President Goodluck Jonathan a grace period of two days to \u2018fire\u2019 Maina by dismissing him or face the full wrath of the parliamentarians. David Mark, Senate President drew the battle line when he said \u201cThe executive has to choose between the Senate and Maina. He has crucified himself. If Maina remains, then the Senate would react appropriately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u2018Presidency to sack Maina\u2019<\/b><b>-Presidency<\/b><\/p>\n<p>A reliable source in Aso Rock confided in <b><i>Naija Standard<\/i><\/b> that President Jonathan had resolved to dismiss Maina who has brought a lot shame to civil service reform in the country. His words: \u201cPresident Jonathan is so disappointed with the activities of Maina, especially the manner he squandered the pension funds.
