NIGERIA’S 18th<\/sup> Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki deposed by late General Sani Abacha, a former dictator is dead. He died unfulfilled at the age of 93years after he suffered protracted illness around 8:58 p.m. on Monday, at a private hospital in Abuja. He will be buried Tuesday, according to Muslim rites. <\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Family sources indicated that while he writhed in pain and battled death to a standstill in the hospital, he still requested to see his son,Colonel Sambo Dasuki, ex-National Security Adviser,NSA to immediate past Nigeria’s President, Goodluck Jonathan presently under incarceration in custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC as\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span>accused of misappropriating over $2 billion arms purchase funds.<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Going by late Dasuki’s family funeral arrangements: \u201cHis body will be conveyed to Sokoto tomorrow morning for burial according to Islamic rites.\u201d Dasuki is survived by 27 children and many grand children.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

True, the deceased Dasuki died without realising his dream of seeing his son, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.), again following his over a year incarceration by the Muhammadu Buhari administration. Though ex-NSA denies the allegation and has been granted bail by a number of courts \u2013 including Economic Community of West African Court, ECOWAS, yet he remains detained by the Buhari regime.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Deputy Senate Leader, Bala Ibn Na\u2019Allah, in an early condolence message prayed to Allah to grant him eternal rest.
