HE HAD TALL DREAMS. HE LOVES PLAYING BASKETABALL RIGHT FROM\nNIGERIA. CLIFFORD ETADAFIMUE had his dream shattered after his\narrival in United States of America only to discover that he was a\nvictim of human trafficking with fake sporting career. He is\nhomeless, 7-foot-2 tall, sleeps on the streets in Nashua, New\nHampshire. <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nThis\n21 year old homeless man was deceived through a human\ntrafficking scheme that brought young African men to the United\nStates with the promise of basketball careers. He was arrested in the\nGate City \u2014 the latest in a string of criminal offenses for the\nNigerian immigrant.\n<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Etadafimue\nhas been living in a homeless shelter for the past several weeks and\nhas had multiple run-ins with police in Nashua and Manchester since\nSeptember.The\nimposing 7-foot-2 man\u2019s latest arrest was recent. Sgt. Adalberto\nGarcia of the Nashua Police Department says he witnessed Etadafimue\n\u201ctear a street sign from a pole and throw it,\u201d according to court\ndocuments on file at the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division.Etadafimue\nwas arrested for criminal mischief by officer Nicholas Markarian.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According\nto officer Markarian:\n\u201c Etadafimue\nrefused to stand and enter the rear of the van. After several minutes\nand multiple orders for Clifford to enter the van, myself and other\nofficers picked Clifford up and assisted him into the rear of the\nvan,\u201d Markarian says in court records. It\ntook 10 police officers to move the 350-pound Etadafimue into\nbooking. He was subsequently charged with resisting arrest for\nrefusing to cooperate.\u201d \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\nwas gathered that prior to his arrest, Etadafimue is one of 75 teens\nand young men from foreign countries enrolled in North Carolina\u2019s\nEvelyn Mack Academy who migrated to that state to play basketball,\naccording to a federal indictment filed in Charlotte, N.C.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

City\npolice state in court documents that they are concerned for\nEtadafimue\u2019s safety, noting he is having increased contact with\npolice, has potential mental health issues and suffers from a medical\ncondition that requires the use of a glucose meter.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within\nthe past several months, Etadafimue has been arrested about five\ntimes in Manchester and faces charges of criminal trespass alleging\nthat he repeatedly refused to leave the Manchester City Library and\nElliot Hospital emergency room because he was homeless and cold.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\none instance, Manchester police used an electric stun gun on\nEtadafimue after he allegedly failed to comply with police during an\narrest at the city library. Since\nmoving to the United States, Etadafimue has played basketball in\nseveral states, but eventually made his way to New Hampshire where he\nis now on the streets and was most recently working at a McDonald\u2019s.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naija\nStandard Newspaper<\/strong><\/em>\ngathered that Evelyn Mack, the founder of the Evelyn Mack Academy\nwhere Etadafimue is enrolled, ships students off to other schools\nthat provide her with money because they lack her U.S. Department of\nHomeland Security approvals to issue paperwork leading to F-1 visas\nfor student-athletes, according to the indictment.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nashua\nis a city in southern New Hampshire. In the city center, sprawling\nMine Falls Park, which stretches along the Nashua River, has an\nextensive trail system. The north end\u2019s large Greeley Park features\npicnic areas and a playground. Nashua\u2019s summer collegiate baseball\nleague team plays at nearby Holman Stadium. The city is home to\nSymphony NH, which performs orchestral works at various venues\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
