He was found upon arrest to have had in his possession 128 different identity cards belonging to various people, carrying various names but having his only pictures.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>British Police<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to London Police reports, \u201ca Nigerian with 128 identities was arrested by London Police. He gave his name as David Peters, 30, but had defrauded banks to the tune of \u00a3636,000 by using 128 different\u00a0<a title=\"Click to Continue &gt; by Discount Buddy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nairaland.com\/708606\/nigerian-128-identities-arrested-london\">identity cards<\/a>. Police investigation revealed that Daniel Peters<br \/>\nhad in a series of scams duped banks, <a title=\"Click to Continue &gt; by Discount Buddy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nairaland.com\/708606\/nigerian-128-identities-arrested-london\">mortgage lenders<\/a>\u00a0and government agencies, disguising with different identities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Suspect obtained 74 fake licenses\u2026his crimes<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The police told the court in London that Peters obtained 74 fake licenses after applying for them at a string of rural post offices. The Nigerian also stole \u00a3168,575 (N45 million) in benefits from three London councils by claiming to be both tenant and landlord at the same address.<\/p>\n<p>Peters also got \u00a3250,000 (N62.5 million) <a title=\"Click to Continue &gt; by Discount Buddy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nairaland.com\/708606\/nigerian-128-identities-arrested-london\">mortgage<\/a>\u00a0for a house in Edgware, North London and another\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nairaland.com\/708606\/nigerian-128-identities-arrested-london\">mortgage<\/a>\u00a0on a flat in Essex worth \u00a3157,495 (N39 million). Also, he took more than \u00a360,000 (N15 million) from Lloyds TSB in series. The London police claimed that the Nigerian<br \/>\ncommitted these frauds since 2002 through December last year till now when he was nabbed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Peters name Accomplices <\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sensing that the end had come, Peters named Oluseyi Jeremiah Adebayo on court documents admitted 29 of the charges of fraud and being in possession of false identification documents. Police detective Inspector Richard Fisher of City of London said after the hearing: \u201cThis is the biggest case of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nairaland.com\/708606\/nigerian-128-identities-arrested-london\">identity theft<\/a>\u00a0we have ever investigated. The sheer number of the fake identities we discovered are evidence of how Peters was a full time fraudster funding a life of excess at the expense of others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Peters fake names mentioned<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Police investigation revealed that Peters was also known as Jerry Alfred Zaandam, Goke<br \/>\nJerry Adeyimi, David Johnson Brown, Kevin Michael Peters, John Donald Nelson, Desmond<br \/>\nBrown Jackson, etc is a hardened criminal.
