AT\n47, British born Nigerian rapper, BEN CHIJIOKE was famous in the\nwhole of United Kingdom as\nan outstanding musician for his profound knowledge of hip-hop, rap\nmusic and stage choreography. Sadly, this talented musician known on\nstage as ‘TY’ developed some health challenges, after been rushed to\nthe hospital with complication traceable to Coronavirus, he\neventually died. <\/strong>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

British\nrapper who was nominated for the prestigious Mercury music prize\ndied after contracting Coronavirus, according to a fundraising page\nset up to support him.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stars\nincluding Roots Manuva paid tribute to the 47-year-old Londoner, real\nname Ben Chijioke, who died on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ty\nreleased his debut album \u201cAwkward\u201d in 2001, the first of five.\nHis follow-up, \u201cUpward\u201d, was nominated for the Mercury in 2004\nalongside Amy Winehouse.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roots\nManuva, who collaborated with the rapper, tweeted on Thursday: \u201cRest\nmy Brother. You did good.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DJ\nGilles Peterson said Ty \u201cwas a huge part in the development of hip\nhop and spoken word in this country\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAn\noriginal no nonsense voice, always sharp, always witty. Today\u2019s\ngeneration of rappers owe him a lot \u2014 a true gate opener. RIP,\u201d\nhe tweeted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\ndeath of Ty, who was born into a Nigerian family, was announced on a\nfundraising page set up to help him when he fell ill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
