AYO BALOGUN, famously known as \u2018Wizkid\u2019 in the global music circle has won every award in every continent around the world through the creative use of music, gripping messages, inspiring lyrics, and danceable rhythms. It\u2019s a blessing to get to do what I do, and I\u2019m proud to be representing Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other winners of the Artist of the Year award in different regions include Aya\u00a0Nakamura (France), RIN (Germany), Official\u00a0Hige\u00a0Dandism (Japan), Scriptonite (Russia), while The\u00a0Weekend won Global Artist of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>The singer contribution to the international music industry have earned him several achievements, including a Grammy Award\u2026thanks to his featured work on Beyonce\u2019s the Lion King: The Gift soundtrack with \u201cBrown Skin Girl.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Further investigation undertaken by <em><strong>Naija Standard Newspaper Center for Investigative Journalism, NSNCIJ<\/strong><\/em>, revealed that Wizkid is the most awarded African artist at the\u00a0BET Awards, Soul Train Awards, Billboard Awards; iHeartRadio Music Awards and MOBO Awards. He is also a recipient of an ASCAP plaque for Drake\u2019s \u2018One Dance\u2019. Wizkid\u2019s contributions to the Nigerian music industry has made him the most awarded artiste in The Headies award history.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grammy Award nomination: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Only recently, the Grammy Academy announced the 2022 Grammy Awards nominations list in a Livestream from the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles, which featured Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and Board of Trustees Chair Tammy Hurt, as well as some special guests. Wizkid was nominated for the Best Global Music Performance alongside other African superstars, including Femi Kuti, Burna Boy, Terms and Angelique K The Nigerian Afrobeat Star\u2019s album\u00a0<em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Made In Lagos was\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">nominated for Best Global Music Album at the 64th Grammy Award show. He faces competition from Femi Kuti and Made Kuti\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Legacy +<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, Angelique Kidjo\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Mother Nature<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0and Rocky Dawumi\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Voice of Bunbon Volume I.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">African Giant Burna Boy also fetched a nomination in the 2022 Grammy Awards. He was nominated in the Best Global Music Performance category for his collaboration with Angelique Kidjo alongside Femi Kuti\u2019s\u00a0<em>Pa Pa Pa\u00a0<\/em>and Wizkid and Terms song\u00a0<em>Essence.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Wizkid and Burna Boy won their first-ever Grammy at the 2021 Awards. Wizkid won the Grammy award for his collaboration with Singer Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy for the track\u00a0<em>Brown Skin Girl\u00a0<\/em>in the Best Music Video category.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Burna Boy clinched the Best World Music category award with his\u00a0<em>Twice As Tall<\/em>\u00a0album.<\/p>\n<p>Wizkid\u2019s 2022 Grammy Awards nomination is one of the singer\u2019s notable feats of the year.
