BY way of immortalizing the outstanding cultural works of Uba Onwudiwe, a multiple award winning gospel and cultural highlife musician in Canada, National Association of English Language Students in Nigerian Universities (NASELS) scored another \u2018first\u2019 when Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria hosted 21 undergraduate from various universities across the country and few came out in shinning colors.<\/p>\n
According to Comrade Akwarandu, National President, NASELS, often regarded as \u2018Grand Commander of Change\u2019 by fellow undergraduates ensured this historic event was well organized and celebrated Up-North in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
His words: \u201cThe first position was won by University of Nigeria, Nsugbe Campus for the quiz, while, Ibrahim Badamasi University, Niger state took first on debate. Imo state University came second on debate while University of Ibadan took second on quiz.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe third position on debate was shared between, University of Port Harcourt and ABU, Zaria while only University of Jos took the third position on quiz. There were a lot of consolation prizes given out to participating schools.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn all, we had 21 schools that participated in both debate and quiz. And this number is actually because of the strike embarked upon by Nigerian Universities. Majority of the students departed the following day, while the remaining schools left same day.\u201d<\/p>\n
