HE CAME MORE INTO NATIONAL LIMELIGHT controversially when he allegedly championed several campaigns of social media campaign against Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a-two-time governor of Lagos State, now President-elect of Nigeria under the All-Progressives Congress party (APC) whom DAVID HUNDEYIN accused of been indicted for drugs in Chicago in the United States.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>As it is believed that \u201cnothing is hidden under the sun\u201d, and \u201che that comes to equity should always come with clean hands\u201d, \u00a0Hundeyin has been axed from Oxford University in the United Kingdom for misconduct bordering on misogynist, racketeering, and others.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Cherwell, a weekly student newspaper published entirely by students at Oxford university, Hundeyin alongside Onyeka Nwelue, a Nigerian author, were outed from the university after both ran a \u2018fraudulent\u2019 book launch together on Oxford University premises for Hundeyin\u2019s most recent book.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOnyeka Nwelue and David Hundeyin are no longer associated with the University of Cambridge. Their connections were terminated following an investigation into their conduct\u201d. They added: \u201cThe James Currey Fellowship is not administered, awarded, or funded by the University of Cambridge,\u201d a statement credited to the institution reads.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was further exposed that Hundeyin and Nwelue exploited the university community by charging \u00a320 for entry via the African Studies Centre of whose events are usually free.<\/span><\/p>\n

Expressing shock and dismay at the impudence of the hosts to charge a fee for the book launch was one of the attendees at the event.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI signed up to attend the event and was surprised I had to pay \u00a320 to attend. Events run by the African Studies Centre are usually free as they are catering towards students,\u201d an attendee said.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to charging \u00a320 for entry, copies of Hundeyin\u2019s book were also on sale for a further \u00a320 at the event.<\/span><\/p>\n

Coinciding with the fraud-laced event the institution found Hundeyin and Nwelue guilty of, accusations of misogynism and sexism also headlined the misconduct that led to their dismissal.<\/span><\/p>\n

A student was quoted as saying, \u201cA key point of concern occurred when a question was asked by an attendee to Hundeyin concerning the issue of sexism and sexual harassment that African female journalists endure. Hundeyin replied with the implication that women who were of a fair complexion, tall and had long legs would not face hurdles to their career advancement in journalism.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
