STRONG signals emerge in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) which arouse unconfirmed speculation in many quarters that the present anti-corruption fight of President Muhammadu Buhari will not abate until his predecessor Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) is likely linked in a web of corruption, that will ultimately rubbish his spotless-democracy credentials and turns him opprobrium in the eyes on International Community.
Like a commando thriller, King A. J Turner, a first class royal monarch in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, closest friend of Jonathan had his house raided some hours ago by stern looking, armed men of Nigeria’s State Security Service (DSS) under the cover of darkness. All properties in his Maitama residence, Abuja were scattered and turned upside down, since an eye witness claimed the SSS were searching for some classified information; knowing fully well that the Royal Monarch was away in Yenogoa to attend to some urgent traditional issues.
In a move yet to be explained by operatives of the Directorate of State Security (DSS), the Maitama residence of Bayelsa’s first class monarch and close ally of former President Goodluck, King A.J Turner was scattered and rumpled.
During the raid carried out late Monday night, several documents, including a specified amount of dollars, pound sterling, Naira and rupee were confiscated from the monarch’s residence as exhibits.
*’Plots to Trace Documents that will link GEJ to Corruption’-INVESTIGATION
INVESTIGATION by our reporter showed that speculation is rife in may circles that DSS operatives are doing everything they know and playing every tricks in the books to link GEJ to any trace of corruption directly which was why an important document on Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on campaign fund-raising, Income & Expenditure book of M.D Matelbot Oil Nigeria Ltd, document containing account numbers of Miss Havi Mabel Turner; Miss Apelega Inengite; A.J Turner and TRENUR Nigeria Ltd; and other financial transaction documents were seized as evidential exhibit; aside the popular view that the move was made because of the King’s closeness to former President Jonathan. The monarch was away in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa when the raid was carried out.
