*”A few days before Grammy Award night, Asake requested that our private jet should come to pick him up in Los Angeles, take him to Lagos, to Abidjan then take him back to Lagos and from there to his next destination. I had to cancel the contract because I couldn’t take it anymore. Ayra Starr was supposed to take a commercial flight to Abidjan for our concert. A few days before Grammy night, she asked if she could get a private jet and I said no problem since we already paid for a Private Jet for Asake and he’s canceled, so I felt the Private Jet is available to pick her up in Lagos. Ayra Starr insisted the Private Jet should come pick her up in Los Angeles and I said, no I can’t do this, then canceled her too”-Ivory COAST Show organizer

THESE ARE NOT EASY TIMES for Nigerian born music stars, ASAKE and Ayra Star, who received at various times the sum of €175,000 (50% advance), €75,000 (50% advance) to perform in Abidjan with a Private Jet ready to airlift them, only for the show organizers to cancel the musicians’ contract when they kept insisting that the Private Jets picked them up in Los Angeles, United States after the Grammy Award the artistes attended ended. It was a foiled N500 Million concert.
Abidjan show organizer, Laguna narrates how he had to cancel Asake’s N50m and Star’s N250m’s show due to their inexcessive demands. The show organizer revealed that Asake and Starr were paid 50% advance to perform in Abidjan with a private jet.
According to him, Asake requested a private jet to pick him up in Los Angeles, take him to Lagos, Abidjan, and back to Lagos. However, the Private Jet plan was canceled due to the show promoter’s inability to take it anymore.
Starr was also paid €75,000 (50% advance) to perform in Abidjan, with a commercial flight planned.
However Ayra Starr requested a private jet to pick her up in Los Angeles, but the PJ was unable to do so, leading to the cancellation.
In his words: “Asake was paid €175,000 (50% advance) to perform in Abidjan with a private jet. Latest information from the organizers in Abidjan confided in our reporters that the concert committee members are presently hiring highly experienced lawyers to help collect the 50 percent earlier made to the musicians.
