AFRICA, Asia are on the threshold of history in the Queen’s enclave-United Kingdom, UK, as models from these two continents are resolute and determined in shrugging it out to know the models whom representation of the continent is trending in modern, traditional fashions, whose intelligence quotient is a true reflection of the rich-fashion virtues the nature endows the continent. This historic event comes up in August 14-15, 2015.

In an electronic email sent to Naija Standard, the organizers stated that models from Africa and Asia between the ages of 15-25 years are qualified to pick the application form each for the sum of £75. Their press statements read: “Miss Afro Asia is a modest cultural and talent pageant for 15-25 year old ladies who have origins in any one of the countries in AFRICA or ASIA through themselves or at least one of their parents, grandparents or great grandparents. Entry to the contest is pegged at £75 . Miss Afro UK takes place on second day of Afro Asia week this year. The Theme is: ‘Not Just a Minority”.
Aim of ceremony
“The Organizers said listed their aims. The press statement said: “Let us say that Day 2 – Saturday -15 August, we will be staging Miss Afro Asia 2015 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The key focus of the event is to demonstrate how diversity enriches Britain, showcase the importance of heritage, culture and the enrichment this brings to the UK economy. The contest is not a facial beauty, skin complexion or weight based contest.“It will be focused on how confident, poised and articulate the participating ladies demonstrate when wearing their tribal/cultural dress, evening outfits and how well they present themselves.
“ For example, individuals who are found to or shows sign of deliberate starvation may not be allowed to participate. The event will be adjudicated by four competent members of the community who will ask questions about costumes, heritage, culture and ethnicity as well as general questions about purpose and motivation in relation to participation of contestants.
Already confirmed attendees include talent spotters, business owners within the fashion, entertainment and media industry and members of the community.
