In the city of Arlington, Texas, and among many Africans in Diaspora, there is a constant struggle to maintain the beauty and essence of their history and cultural, while embracing their western world lifestyle and day to day experiences as American citizens.
However, the Face of Africa pageant has created a platform that allows its patrons to be able to do both seamlessly. Now in its 3rd year, FOA pageant, has heightened awareness of African culture and celebrates how African heritage positively influences the dual heritage of second generation Africans in America.

Highpoints of FOA USA will be hosting 3 days of events leading up to the”3rd Annual Face of Africa Pageant”. The events will be held July 10th-13th in Arlington, TX, and will feature a Welcome Dinner, a Preliminary Judging Presentation, Fashion Show and several after parties. Rosebud Theater at the prestigious University of Texas at Arlington will be hosting the “3rd Annual Face of Africa Pageant.”
July 11th, Face of Africa USA hosts the Preliminary Judging Presentation
By the programme schedule, FOA will hold at the Admiral Hotel in Arlington being a private event will be held exclusively designed for sponsors, VIP guest and media partners. During this event, each contestant will present their platforms in a 2-3 minute presentation to the judges. Food & Drinks will be provided during this intimate setting that promises to be a spectacular affair.
Additional pre- event attractions include the Vogue to Africa Fashion Show, presented by FOA, at the Admiral Hotel in Arlington, TX on July 12th.The event, which is a Fundraiser for the Face of Africa USA Scholarship, will be held from 8pm-12am and will feature eccentric African fashions and some of the hottest African Fashion Designers. This event will highlight national and international guest designers including Kenya’s own Zeddie Lokey ( Blackbird Jeans),St. Frimpong from Chicago, Third World, and
Nana O Couture who will be showcasing their collections for a good cause. Gourmet food fare will be provided as well as an exclusive opportunity for event attendees to meet all of the 2013 pageant contestants.
The Face of Africa pageant has attracted the participation of Africans from over 20 countries, as well as people from every ethnicity and demographic group around the world. The 2013 Face of Africa USA Pageant includes 15 contestants from various countries in Africa competing for the title of Mr. & Mrs. FOA USA 2013. FOA is the first national co-ed pageant, and the winners of last year’s competition were from the countries of South Sudan and Ghana.
The 3rd Annual FOA Pageant promises a night of culture, fashion, talent, beauty, and fierce competition as well as performances by some of the hottest local artists, drummers and singers. FOA is featuring a new segment this year called Faces of Change where each week, people are spotlighted doing positive things in the community on the FOA website. All honorees are then voted on by fans and the recipient will be awarded at this year’s pageant with the first Faces of Change Award. The iconic presenter of this award will be the previous UN Ambassador of Vanuatu, former film maker and Celebrity Entertainment lawyer Mr. Robert Van Lierop.

Tickets are on sale for $25 and include free food at the VIP reception and Pageant.
