*Crowd boycotts show in on-going cancel culture at Toyota Center in Houston
*19,000 Houston capacity open concert almost empty
*Music fans trash Burna Boy for arrogance, humiliation, disgraceful behavior for lashing out, screaming aloud and to have forcefully walked out a homeless, sleeping American lady fan of his, with her infant crying at a squatting space in show venue
*”I know my ticket sales are suffering since that incident. Even the coffee I introduced, no one is buying. So, please, I am sorry to everyone and everything I said. It was a slip of tongue. IN THE MUSIC CAREER of Nigeria’s multiple, winning grammy award winner, BURNA BOY, the end seems to have come in a full circle, due to arrogance, pride, high-handedness, and shameful behaviour unbecoming of a superstar of his international status. His greatest downfall in the United States is now traceable to the manner he lashed out, screamed aloud, and forcefully ensured an American homeless lady, with her toddler who regularly squat in a space within the show venue in Houston, Texas were driven out, even in the face of the crying child.

The show of shame ‘No Sign of Weakness’ concert at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, in late November 2025, experienced low attendance, with many empty seats visible. The low turnout has been linked to recent controversies involving the artist, with a helpless American homeless lady and her little baby.
Naija Standard Newspaper Inc USA gathered after Burna Boy arrived at the venue of the scheduled concert, he was visibly angry when he saw an obviously exhausted homeless American lady fan of his, just awake from sleep, yarning having earlier breastfed her infant in her hand.
This Nigerian afrobeat singer could not control his anger, he yelled-out aloud, tongue-lashed and used some unprintable, insolence words against a homeless American lady and her baby at the venue. Then, he ordered his private bodyguards to forcefully remove the American lady in question and her baby from the venue, while the little infant burst into uncontrollable tears.
Furthermore, he directed his guards to kick out another fan for rushing on the stage, trying to take a selfie with him.

After the much-hyped event went underway, we can correctly inform you that only an estimated 5,000 fans attended the show in the 19,000-capacity venue, a significant drop from his usual sold-out shows.
Many online users attribute the low attendance to a “cancel culture” response following incidents at a prior show, due to his incessant anger and unruly behaviour.
*American fans recall purchased tickets:
Pissed with Burna Boy not been a good role model, thousands of fans who had earlier purchased tickets in advance reportedly demanded refunds, citing the artist’s perceived arrogance and lack of respect for his supporters.

*Artist’s Response:
Burna Boy addressed the incidents in a social media post, alleging that the previous fan-kicking incident occurred at a separate free show in Lagos, where he was only scheduled to perform for 10 minutes but stayed for an hour. He also stated that his strong reaction to fans rushing the stage is due to his post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and emphasized that it is a known policy for his performances.
His words: “I know my ticket sales are suffering since that incident. Even the coffee I introduced, no one is buying. So, please, I am sorry to everyone and everything I said. It was a slip of tongue. It’s not my fault; I am suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and deep anxiety all the way from Nigeria.”
Sensing heavy backlash from the scandal, sources close to Burna Boy alleged he co-opted some of his aides, and a few die-hard fans to suggest on Instagram and TikTok that the Houston Mega Concert was ‘a success, full of high energy.’
But going by the large empty seats, and scanty crowd at the large event venue, it was crystal clear that the concert was a flop.
