THE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made history. He has been conferred with the highest honour of Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Lucia by the government of Saint Lucia.
This came at the State Banquet/dinner held in his honour Monday night.
Tinubu is on a two-nation tour of Saint Lucia and Brazil, which began last Sunday.
On Monday, he formally announced the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nigeria and Saint Lucia.

He described the development as a “symbolic bridge that will provide a gateway in fostering closer ties between us,” while addressing a joint session of the Saint Lucian bicameral Parliament.
Tinubu proposed creating a Joint Commission or Political Consultation Agreement to guide structured cooperation within the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States.
He also offered full scholarships to OECS students, saying the initiative will “promote cultural understanding that further strengthens the bond between Nigeria and the Eastern Caribbean states.”
