ONE OF NIGERIA’S Most respected journalists in the United States, GEORGE ELIJAH OTUMU has written the name of the Africa’s most populous black nation in gold, as he has won the highly respected, celebrated 2025 Global Recognition WORLD CLASS Journalist Awards in the United States.
This honour, conferred amid 45,000 entries from 100 countries, is noted to affirm his decades-long investigative career, ethical leadership, and transformative impact on journalism and society at large.
Making this announcement public, a first feat by any African journalist, the award committee, through its Secretary Tiffany McCarthy, announced Otumu’s selection for the international honour, citing his outstanding achievements in investigative reporting, community engagement, and media innovation.
