SHE is very beautiful, pretty, endowed with nice curves, hippy and got sexy eyes. Her names are
Tee Tee Deslene, Executive Director of Afrifrimo Inc and Class of 2004 Lynn English High School, Massachusetts, United States whose life revolves around moving production in Africa. She is very intelligent and makes no pretense about her aspiration to joining Hollywood movies. She is a multiple award winning actress with dual citizenship, Cameroon-American.
In this revealing exclusive interview with SAMSON SHOAGA/MANAGING EDITOR, Dallas, she talked on sundry issues regarding her adventure into mainstream African movies in States, several awards, films she personally produced and why she is still searching for Mr. Right.
Kindly take us into your adventure of movies shot in Cameroon
Movies in Cameroon started very unrealistically. I was young then and Cameroon was not yet fully in the know of classic movies.
How will you describe the success of African movies in United States?
Regarding the quality of African movies in the States, I think the editorial crews should write better scripts and don’t forget that we are from Africa and (trying) to entertain our folks
Among all films you have acted, which are the best films you admire most?
I like all the movies I’ve acted so far. My most loved movies are the three movies I produced which are ‘DEEP SEA DIVING, HE LOVESME/NOT and WHO AM I.’
What are the challenges you faced in Cameroon movie industry?
I must confess to you that the Cameroon film industry is gradually growing. My challenge is that it is not easy to shoot a movie over there but we are getting there because I see a light at the end of the tunnel.
How were you able to blend into American movie industry?
I started with my own talk show ‘Taka Tanni Show’, then I went to auditions and immediately I was casted for ‘BUSHFALLER”. Ever after, I have been acting.
Can you name that particular movie that brought you fame in United States?
‘INFAMOUS DECEPTION’ in Boston, brought me into American consciousness. I played the lead role in that movie. It was a great story.
If you are asked to play a role in Hollywood films, what will it be?
The truth is, I like to play roles that bring out a character trait of me. That script is not yet written (laugh). As such, I am planning to write a story of my life and trust me; it will be an award winner.
What are some of your achievements in African movies?
I have been nominated for ‘Best Actress of CEA and CMMA’ when I took home the awards. I have been nominated six times for ‘Best Actress Diasporas’. It has really been greatly acknowledged by fans.
What roles do you think actors should play in guiding African leaders to good leadership?
African leaders should listen and have sincere conversations. Acting is an art. It is natural, not forced because camera don’t lie. I think, they should improve in governance.
But why are you being called ‘The Most Sexy African Actress’ in America?
Wow, Thank you. I am honored for knowing that the people have named me ‘The Most Sexy African Actress’.
Can you tell us the sexiest part of your body?
I thank God for life and I am happy I was wonderfully made by Him. I believe my eyes are the ‘sexiest’ of my body …as they say ‘eyes never lie’.
Take us into your deal in Hollywood
Due to several movies I have acted professionally in the States, several offers in acting have actually been coming from Hollywood-home of films in America. I am taking my time not to make any mistake. Sure, I would make good choice by God’s grace.
We heard there is a lot of sexual abuse in the African movie industry. What is your view?
Hmmmmm, my advice will be; if there is sexual abuse in the African movie industry, it should stop. That’s a horrible thing. God is watching.
How will you describe the effect of NAFCA yearly organized by Dr. Victor Olatoye, an accomplished Nigerian-American movie critic?
Oh, NAFCA-African Oscar, put together by Dr. Victor Olatoye appreciates film makers and others in the entertainment world. NAFCA is black people African Oscar and we are very proud of it being our own little world.
Going by all your achievements, how soon are you tying marital vows with your ‘Mr. Right’?
(Laughs), Mr. Right? Well, God’s time is the best for marriage.
What is your life’s philosophy?
You cannot please everybody all of the time but, do good to God’s pleasure and not displeasure..
Who are your role models in Hollywood?
They are: Meryl streep and Angella Bassett are my role models in Hollywood movies.
How about your message to your fans around the world?
For my fans in Africa, follow your heart and dreams, even if everyone tells you, you can’t do it. Thank you. I love you all.
