SULTANATE of the Sokoto Caliphate, Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman, a-two-minister of Nigeria under the political platform of the nation’s ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has become ‘the toast and most-favorite’ of Sokoto State gubernatorial candidates vying to become ‘Governor-Elect’ in 2015 going by the massive support being given by the electorates to choose a ‘servant-leader’ for this great and historic state.

So far, everything seems working in the advantage of this Harvard trained graduate with indelible knowledge in business, management and politics. His governorship aspiration is daily receiving the boost of the people. He reportedly said recently “I will liberate the people of Sokoto State, empower them if elected governor in 2015.”
As explained, he was contesting the position to “liberate” the people of the state, since his commitment and desire to transform the state was his driving force.
His words: “My first challenge if I win is to see how we can live without getting allocation from the Federal Government. We must create opportunities both for the people and government to generate enough revenues to fund activities and programmes, not to depend on the grant that comes from the Federation Account.”

This successful entrepreneur said the state was richly endowed with human and material resources. He explained that his administration would look at areas of comparative advantage of each of the 23 local government areas of the state, with a view to properly utilizing them. I will give priority to agriculture by effectively utilizing the state`s vast land and create new opportunities.
