HE’S A CHAMPION IN THE WORLD OF BOXING. ENOBONG UMOHETTE is a Nigerian born Sports Ambassador, a native of Akwa Ibom and an outstanding athlete in the United States of America. He is a former UBF International heavyweight boxing champion.
This laser-focused, highly aspirational boxer famously called ‘The Nigerian Gentleman’ brought more honor to Nigeria in his remarkable come back story on Saturday 1Oth August 2024 at The Providence Community Center Monroe, Michigan where Umohette faced off against Juan “Tactical Dynamite” Silva, in a scheduled 10 round professional boxing contest.
This soft-spoken man who remained undefeated in four fights since return from an almost 8-year retirement in late 2022, moves up to 13 wins with the victory.
In a complete knock-out in a rival toe-to-toe from the first bell until late in the second round when Umohette hurt Silva with a body shot at end of the round. Sensing Silva was still hurt, Umohette’s upped pressure saw Silva being dropped by a left hook and unable to beat the count, losing to Umohette by a technical Knock out.
Reacting to the win, Umohette thanked God for the ability to perform at a high competitive level despite an almost 8-year retirement and appreciates Nigerians at home and abroad for the support received.
Also, he thanked his promoter Erik Flemming who monitored the historic fight remotely and applaud his management team consisting of Rhonda Yates, Veteran heavyweight boxing champion Jeremiah ‘The Beast’ Williams, Richard Mason and George Offiong.
