For the records, in the Uganda Police Force, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) is a high-ranking position, typically held by officers leading directorates. AIGP Tano Tanoi Steven is one of the several individuals currently holding this rank.
In Ghana, COP Christian Tetteh is the current Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG), appointed in July 2024. He oversees Operations. His appointment was made by the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, following the advice of the Police Council.
The current Deputy Inspector General of Police in Liberia is Sadatu Reeves. She was recently visited by the UNDP Resident Representative to Liberia, Aliou Dia, at the Liberia National Police Training Academy in Paynesville, Monrovia, where they discussed the academy’s needs assessment and potential areas of cooperation.
Assistant Inspector of Police Annah Chota received the International Female Police Peacekeeper Award for her work with the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), in view of the data stored by the UN Zimbabwe Republic Police.
Wilson Jilala is an Assistant Inspector of Police in the Forensic Bureau in Tanzania.
The Deputy National Commissioner for Policing in South Africa is Lieutenant General Tebello Mosikili. She was appointed to this position on July 1, 2022, making her the first female Deputy National Commissioner for Policing in the South African Police Service, SAPC.
