IT was a historic event on March 12, 13, and 14 in Atlanta, Georgia, when Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, as astute businessman, well-grounded politician with wealth of experience in political matters of South-South region of Nigeria made a ‘huge appearance’ in a remarkable event which had in attendance the Governor of Georgia State, Nathan Deal, key Senators and members of House of Representatives representing the state of Georgia.
In spite of the daily business schedule of Georgia State Governor, he had to cancel some of his earlier appointment to hear the manifestos and electioneering plans of O’tega, a high chief in Delta State and recipient of Nigeria’s highest national merit award- Order of the Niger (OON). Deal was accompanied by top Senators and key members of the House of Representatives willing to hear the ‘message of change’ that this quiet, soft-spoken and amiable politician was to offer.
True to his academic brilliance and intelligence quotient, O’tega did not disappoint the crowd, as he reeled out his plans, visions for the good people of Delta State in an evergreen ceremony packaged by Kesse Jabari, a well celebrated Nigerian businessman and fashion expert in company of Warrington Consulting LLC in Atlanta.
The highpoint of this ceremony was when he was presented with ‘Honorary Citizen of Georgia State’ award after he had delved further into key issues of change in his manifesto that will make life affordable for the people, provide qualitative health care for the community, proper plans for the aged and industrialize Delta State economy there by attracting global attention. This instantly brought O’tega a standing ovation and resonating applause.
Naija Standard observed that the award was given to O’tega in recognition of his outstanding success in business, exemplary service to community, especially indigenes and friends of Delta State.
Immediately after that, in ‘Deltans in Diaspora Forum’, he met with business leaders, corporate citizens, investor groups, chamber of commerce and non-governmental organizations in a bid to explore, attract foreign business opportunities to Delta State.
