IN a bid to empower the young girls, showcase their intelligence, beauty, create undiluted networking opportunities for them and celebrate the rich cultural identities of Kwara State, a highly respected non-governmental organisation, Dr. Nathaniel Oyinloye Foundation certified by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) with registration number 9197885 is leading the way for humanity by staging the first-ever Miss Kwara Beauty Pageant, come late December this year.

Larry Kay Ojomo, widely known by his fashion brand name Mon Ami (or LK Mon Ami), a veteran and award-winning Nigerian fashion designer from who rose to prominence in the 1990s and 2000s is expected to grace the occasion in a grand way.
LK Mon Ami, who was the 1st runner-up in the Nigeria Fashion Show (1998) and Nigeria Designer of the Year (1999), served as a costume designer and consultant for major pageants, including Miss Nigeria, Miss World / Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, the Commonwealth International Supermodel showcase and served as a headline designer for the Queen Moremi Ajasoro (QMA) pageant, unveiling collections at Africa Fashion Week London will be one of main judges at this much-awaited ceremony that will take place in Kwara State.
The choice of LK Mon Ami as a guest judge in the pageantry is because he is famous for dramatic, high-impact evening wear, jackets, waistcoats, and themed runway features-most notably the Baileys Collection (inspired by the Irish cream liqueur) showcased at the Africa International Fashion Week; as he creatively blends 1960s/1970s retro elements, tailored jackets, and African cultural aesthetics (drawing inspiration from traditional African women’s twisted headgear and silhouettes).

Also, on the VIP high table arrangements are First Class Royal Fathers, Local Government functionaries, top officials from the Ministry of Arts, Culture & Tourism to witness history.
To the beauty event, this is a new platform dedicated to celebrating the beauty, intelligence, confidence, culture and potentials of young women in Kwara State where brain, beauty and culture inter-relate at once.
In a press statement released, it reads: “The pageant is designed to provide a platform for young women across Kwara State to showcase not only their beauty, but also their intelligence, personality, creativity, cultural identity, leadership qualities and commitment to making a positive impact in society.”
The organisers say the initiative is aimed at creating greater visibility and opportunities for young women in the state while promoting Kwara’s rich cultural heritage and projecting the state positively beyond its borders.
The physical audition will take place on Saturday, 24 October 2026, by 10:00 AM at S’heema Hotel, Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara State.
For applicants who may be unable to attend physically, an online audition will also be held on Friday, 23 October 2026, by 10:00 AM.
The organisers are inviting eligible young women from across Kwara State who possess confidence, character, intelligence, elegance and a passion for representing their state to participate.
Beyond the crown, Miss Kwara is expected to serve as a medium for visibility, personal development, media exposure, networking and opportunities for the eventual winner and participants.

The organisers are also engaging media organisations, corporate bodies, government institutions, cultural organisations and individuals to support the initiative as partners in building a stronger platform for young women in Kwara.

According to the organisers, the vision is to make Miss Kwara more than a conventional beauty competition.

The organisers further stated that the pageant will place emphasis on beauty, intelligence, culture, confidence, character and purpose, with contestants expected to demonstrate what makes them worthy ambassadors of Kwara State.
“Miss Kwara is about giving our young women a platform to be seen, heard and celebrated.
