LIES do not run forever. Irrespective of how many times someone lies repeatedly does not turn the bogus statement into the truth of what really transpired. The unreal, fake, unfounded and unverified allegation gone viral in the social media recently regarding the story of a young man whom a narrator alleged to have undergone a transactional kidney surgery for economic survival have been factchecked to be false purposely to attract likes, shares on the media platform. An A-list Nisa Premier Hospital in Abuja, Nigeria issued a sweeping statement to clear the air on the controversy, which confirmed the stance taken by Mark Twain, the great philosopher that “A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.”

Thorough investigations by our correspondent revealed that a Fifth Columnist by an anonymous health practitioner in Africa’s most populous black nation in the world jealous of the outstanding accomplishments of Nisa Premier Hospital may be responsible for this conspiracy in a bid to create a web of suspicion in the hearts of the masses. They failed and crashed into their lie.
When their make-belief video played on the social media, why did the narrator not tell the truth that his purpose of visiting Nisa Premier Hospital in company of the young man at the center of the kidney scandal was led by an investigator to carry out a diagnostic Ultrasound scan so as to confirm the absence of one of kidneys of this male individual whose kidney was allegedly removed at another hospital?” The narrator was silence on that, thereby giving assumptions, innuendos to the public to continue in the cheap propaganda.
Since integrity, excellence and highest credibility are the moniker of Nisa Premier Hospital in the Nigeria’s Healthcare Industry, Dr. Nonso Ogbuefi, Medical Director, Nisa Premier Hospital did not hold back his criticism of the controversial social media viral video when he decided to cut through the chase by saying:
“The attention of the management of Nisa Premier Hospital, Jabi, Abuja has been drawn to the circulating social media post regarding the involvement of the hospital in a transactional removal of a young male’s kidney.
“We categorically state that this a FALSE allegation as Nisa Premier Hospital never performed the surgery in question or had any surgery encounter with the young male involved.

“A diagnostic Ultrasound scan was conducted at Nisa Premier Hospital to confirm the absence of one of the kidneys of the male individual who alleged that his kidney was removed at another hospital following investigations by a third party. This was duly paid for by the investigator who brought the young individual to the hospital to access the service in order to confirm the absence of one of the patient’s kidneys. The Ultrasound scan was conducted and report provided professionally as requested by the individual and the investigator. The report showed an absence of the left kidney.
“The investigator clearly stated in the primary video in circulation that Nisa Premier Hospital was only involved in providing a scan needed to confirm the condition on the individual’s kidney s, and not as the hospital involved in the surgical removal of the kidney.
“We therefore wish to assure our patients, partners, all stakeholders and the general public that Nisa Premier Hospital, a multispecialty hospital is committed to providing continuous optimal and transparent healthcare services to our patients according to the laid down ethics of medical practice and encourage the relevant authorities to fully investigate the allegation in question.”
Certainly, here in the United States, the Western nations, and the rest of the world, success is built on hard work, truth, resilience and ability to overcome any challenges. This position was confirmed by Orison Swett Marden, another great philosopher who submits that “Success is not measured by what you accomplish alone, but by the opposition you have encountered, and the courage with which you have maintained the struggle against overwhelming odds.”

This is a red line and a final warning to the Fifth Columnists to retrace their steps else they will surely be inviting a libel suit being a civil lawsuit filed when someone writes or publishes a false statement that damages another person’s or business’ reputation.
