AGAINST all human calculation, and expectation that shocked the world when news hit that Nicolas Maduro, then sitting President of Venezuela, the wife, First Lady of the nation, Cilia Adela Flores de Maduro were captured like ‘chicken’, despite the tight, armed security provided by the special forces elite team from Cuba which led to their been dragged out of their beds, and on the floor for a few seconds after which they were handcuffed. National Security unclassified document seen confirmed that the Central Intelligence Agency, CIA, was allegedly the brain behind the former leader’s ouster from power in the early hours of January 3, 2026.

Six months ago, another option was contemplated under the coded guidance of the Africa Command, AFRICOM as led by the United States Department of War to allegedly have Maduro food poisoned for easy capture. But after a brief evaluation of the global blowback by the Cuban Elite Security in the presidential palace, the idea was discarded since such will be easily traceable to the handiwork of the United States authority.

The eight bodyguards were promised millions of dollars, new lives, and safety for their families. Satisfied with the pledge, they disabled security, stood down, and handed their president over without a shot being fired.
The swift and successful nature of the pre-dawn raid suggests internal assistance kept resistance minimal.
During the “Operation Absolute Resolve” raid, elite US Delta Force commandos easily breached Maduro’s safe house in Caracas and captured him and his wife from their bedroom, before his personal security team could secure the property’s final defenses.
The US forces were notably armed with blowtorches to defeat fortified doors, but the operation unfolded smoothly, leading experts and news outlets to speculate about a possible betrayal or “palace coup” from within the regime.
Naija Standard Newspaper Inc USA security network indicated that United States spies had been monitoring Maduro’s movements for months, with sources specifically embedded within the Venezuelan government providing intelligence. The success of the operation, which resulted in the transportation of Maduro to the United States to face drug trafficking charges reinforced the belief that internal collaboration was key.
It was clear that the U.S. military operation capitalized on fractures within the Venezuelan armed forces. The Maduro fall was caused by the betrayal of his military forces.
The special operation, which included strikes in Caracas and other strategic locations, resulted in Maduro’s capture along with his wife, as U.S. military and law enforcement forces transported them out of Venezuela. The Trump administration hailed the action as a success in its campaign against what it called “narco-terrorism,” though the legality and international ramifications remain fiercely contested.
For posterity, Maduro secured power through a patronage network that bound the high command to him with lucrative positions and influence over Venezuela’s vast oil industry. Yet pressure from international sanctions, the ongoing economic collapse, and ferocious domestic opposition weakened this allegiance.
In the run-up to the assault, eyewitnesses say whispers of dissent grew louder within the ranks. Crisis in the Venezuela’s armed forces were further corroborated by leaks from Venezuelan exiles and regime insiders indicated growing disillusionment among middle and upper-level officers who feared being held accountable for corruption and human rights abuses if Maduro’s regime collapsed. These officers reportedly began hedging their bets, refusing to fully back Maduro in the critical hours before the U.S. assault, WLRN reports.
For the records, the same thing happened in Panama in 1990 when the United States invaded the country to arrest General Manuel Noriega. He was extradited and imprisoned.
