SOUTH-EAST, Nigeria has gradually been turned the headquarters of kidnapping-forcefully abduction of people by criminal-minded youths with the sole aim of making ill-gotten wealth in the society. Immaterial, if their victims(the persons kidnapped) die in the process, provided they have made their ‘evil money.’ Ace Nollywood Actress, Nkiru Sylvanus, a fair skinned lady have suddenly been held in the captive of these kidnappers requesting for the sum of N100m cash from her before she could breathe freedom.

Naija Standard investigation revealed that since the abduction of Sylvanus, a special assistant on public relations to the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha amidst three of her friends in Owerri, Imo State few days ago at 8: 30pm, security operatives in the state seem to have incured the anger of Okorocha, who is insisting and ordering them to do all they can in securing the freedom of this Nollywood actress turned polital apointee.
Sylvanus had been crying ever since these kidnappers moved her from one thick forest in Owerri ti another, under the cover of darkness. And when she refuses to cooperate they allegedly drag her her on the floor of the thick bushes-with laceration over her body.
Naija Standard learnt Sylvanus have been begging the captors to collect N10m so thatshe can make other phone calls to important dignitaries, so that the money can be made available.
But the captors are saying it is either N100m or N50m with a caveat that their hideout would never be raided by security agents.
Our correspondent gathered that even though her kidnappers cohersed her to later made her call some friends to demand a ransom of N100 million from the state government for her release.The whole scenario seem more like a Nollywood block burster. The governor’s aide was reported to have been taping an episode of a public relation’s show, “Inside Imo” which was expected to air on national television, when she was taken away in Owerri.

The members of the family of Sylvanus, presently on nightmares over the predicament of their beloved sister and daughter have been so sleepless since the news hit them that one of their bread winners had been kidnapped. They have been begging her captors to kindly release Sylvanus to rejoin her family unhurt.
Hideouts of Kidnappers in Imo State Exposed
Going by discreet investigation conducted by this reporter, below are the two major kidnappers’ hideout in Imo State where famous people or elites are kept and moved around under the thick
cover of darkness: Otulu, Oru East LGA Imo State and Orogwe, Owerri West LGA. Except security agents thouroughly comb these areas diligently, there is fear over Sylvanus safety because these youths regularly smoke ‘Marijuana or Indian Hemp’ to get high and commit all forms of attrocities.
Nollywood Practitioners pray for her Safety
Information reaching Naija Standard revealed that several Nollywood actree have embarked on serious prayers for Sylvanus’ safety, asking God to be with her, by securing her safty.
Okorocha battles Kidnappers
Okorocha is not taking this matter lightly, as he has declared total war against kidnappersand criminals who still operate in the state. He reportedly said:“Enough of kidnapping in Imo State and we are doing all we can to make sure that she is rescued as soon as possible. “When there is a kidnap of such nature, there are always issues of close friends or relations involved in the matter.
We are out to fish-out the people responsible for this and we have got genuine information on where he is being kept. We will definitely get those behind this act.”

The persons making up his cabinet should have been thoroughly interviewed, before picking candidates. Yes, because Imo people voted him, not as a result of him working hard. They should have been asked what recommendations they can make to foster good governance in Imo state, It’s not enough that you want to help the less privileged, that is national anthem. The way we run governance is sickening and appalling! People are suffering. All they are asking is for a better standard of living. Put the right persons to work with you, who have the training, experience, and can make good recommendations. Fifty SAs will batter the already crippled Imo economy, even if Rochas will pay them from his pocket. There is an SA for comedy. This is a joker! Are these jobs sustainable? What is the budget for each office? What are the commissioners doing with a load of SAs? A liason officer doesn’t need to be an SA. Why the publicity? We shouldn’t copy governance from the developed nations, only parts of what we like and introduce you know me, i know him’. Our leaders must wake up. We are lagging behind in matters of the world. You don’t need a youth to tell you what he wants because if he asks you for a blackberry phone and unemployed, then it doesn’t make sense. Our society needs food security, clean water, sustainable light, clean public toilets, waste disposal system that doesn’t pollute our underground water, training our youths in good schools abroad with a must’ to come back and develop the technology in Nigeria, jobs, good transport system, roads that do not encourage accidents, good medical system, care for our young and the old they should never pay for anything, contractors that are accountable and will provide good service, a programme that can move Imo state from a state with no resources to that making it’s own income. How about establishing schools with foreigners from Europe and America as tutors and realising revenue from students from other Nigerian states? It will boost the Imo economy and help raise the educational standard of Nigeria. Our degrees are not regarded abroad, but this would get recognition. How about setting up pyrolysis, digesters and gasification plants that will care for the unsightful waste heaps in Owerri and still provide electricity? Can this electricity be sold to neighbouring towns like Port Harcourt and Aba? The list is endless. Nigeria must rise from its slumber and deliver good governance. As for the haters’ comment, moving on with your life and living big’ these sentiments will get us nowhere. It is poverty that has provoked that kind of comment, including adding a phone number, in the hope to be contacted. Mine is no haters’ comment. Rochas should have settled’ her in some other way without attracting publicity but she must have asked for this. I don’t want anyone announcing me, just like that, without knowing if that is how I want to be appreciated for my good work’. I hope he will not betray the trust rested on him. Ohakim’s case is a good lesson.
