She can best be described as ‘Beauty and Brain.’ Who could ever think an Aiyepe born, Ogun State, ‘Egba Girl’ from Nigeria will be the singular person whose appointment into the Mayoral position of Town Fort Coffee, Oklahoma would by her elevation profoundly rebrand the image of Africa’s most populous black nation in the world? Yes, she did. Her promotion did. Not only is she extremely beautiful, gorgeous and highly intelligent, but you can see ‘fire of change’ in her eyes to effectively cater, care for the good people of Oklahoma, and by extension, her appointment attracts goodwill and certainly open to Foreign Direct Investment, FDI, to Nigeria.
Yetunde, otherwise called an Amazon, interestingly, is scandal free. She takes over after the tenure of former Mayor Bill Guidry, a Center where she earlier reigned as Senior Director.
She studied at the University of the District of Columbia with Excellent Grades, had degree As Best Graduating Student at Rockledge in Florida, USA.
This soft-spoken woman was duly sworn into office by Edwyna Warrior Triplett, Notary Public-a distinguished educator, administrator, and principal whose legacy of service and leadership speaks with great distinction. She is also the daughter of Eddie Warrior, a historic and revered figure whose contributions to Black history in the State of Oklahoma remain both profound and enduring.
Pursuant to an officially conducted meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Town of Fort Coffee, Oklahoma, Tabiyah Yetunde, was duly nominated, seconded, and appointed to serve as Mayor of this town.
The nomination was formally made by Trustee Lynn Walker-Oland and seconded by Trustee Lonnie Lewis. With a lawful quorum present and in agreement, the appointment was duly carried out in accordance with established municipal procedure and governing authority.
An official press statement from Town of Fort Coffee, Oklahoma reads “the future of Fort Coffee rests in our collective hands. As a community, we must work together as one unified body-collaborative, respectful, and forward-thinking-to ensure a fruitful, positive, and prosperous Fort Coffee. Unity is not optional; it is essential. This moment is not only procedural-it is historical. It reflects continuity, legacy, and the enduring strength of a people who have long contributed to the fabric of this state and this nation.”
In her response, the new minted Mayor Yetunde said: “This administration will stand on principle. It will be structured. It will be accountable. And it will move Fort Coffee forward with purpose and vision. I extend my hand to this Board, to our partners, and to every resident of this town. The work ahead requires unity, clarity, and commitment-and that work begins now.”
And on her Facebook handle, she explained: “To my beloved family, friends, colleagues, and supporters across the nation and around the world.
“I extend my deepest and most sincere gratitude for the outpouring of love, calls, messages, reposts, and congratulations. From every corner of this country and across North America, Africa, and the Caribbean-your support has reached me, and it has truly moved me.
“Please know this with certainty: I have read your messages. I have felt your spirit. I am acknowledging every beautiful person, every beautiful soul, and every loved one who has taken the time to pour into me during this moment.
“While I may not have responded to each of you here on Facebook just yet, I assure you-I will. I will return your calls and respond to your messages. I simply ask for your patience as I move through this very full and purposeful season.
“As I step into this role, I want to be clear-this is not a solo journey. Serving as Mayor is not the work of one individual; it is the collective responsibility of the Board of Trustees. We are working together as one body, one unit, committed to the growth, stability, and future of our community.
