“NIGERIA will on May 1st in CMS, Lagos State witness a massive long-walk of the masses in form of movement by way of protest against the alarming, terrorists act of Boko Haram where lives of innocent children and defenseless women are being wasted and destinies turn eclipsed,” Oloye, the manager of Seun Anikulapo Kuti squealed to us few minutes ago.
Naija Standard gathered that Seun Anikulapo Kuti, presently on tour of some European countries on music concerts is hurriedly putting finishing touches in these shows in ensuring that he arrives Nigeria on time and lead this campaign for peace, normalcy and justice to reign in North-Eastern part of Nigeria.
An aide very close to Seun and the Egypt’ 80 said, this musician is greatly pained daily by the murder, arson, violence and wanton destruction of properties by way of lawlessness still reigning supreme in these zones of North-Eastern Nigeria.
To clear his mind to have spoken and acted by way of exposing the danger inherent with the loss of lives of those children and women, Seun titled the walk-protest ‘Stolen Dreams’, meaning the aspiration, vision and dreams of these innocent children daily murdered by Boko Haram could no longer be redeemed. “Some of those children may have been destined to be great leaders and true patriots Nigeria has been awaiting. They have all been wasted, killed by some blood-thirsty terrorist group called Boko Haram. What is the position of the various governments in those zones? How long will many more lives be sacrificed? Nigerian masses can no longer sit down and watch. We shall begin a historic walk from CMS on May 1 by 9am and pass through major highways all over Lagos, singing protest songs and echoing our thoughts on the stolen dreams of these children. Enough is enough, we can no longer bear it,” stated the aide who would not want his name mentioned because he was not authorized to speak to the press.
